Gallo hi-fi system - A'Diva, Due and Micro speakers with MPS 150 powered subwoofer
Gallo Reviews, News and Awards
April 2006 AVReview.co.uk
"The extended high treble was sweet and revealing, especially with effects such as rain bullet ricochets, which fizzed around with spot-on clarity. Speech too came across as clear and well-defined, even rendering arch mumbler Russell Crowe intelligible for once. For music the Micro Ti also did the business, that sweet high end in particular coming to the fore with busy hi-hats and tambourines sounding more real than might be expected, and female vocals receiving just an extra nuance of space. The Micro Ti is a little wonder both in sight and sound, offering some powerful dynamics, transparency and detail for their diminutive size and reasonable price." For the full review click here

Dont let the low price and 4 diameter of these high-tech juggling balls fool you the supermodel thin stands of the Galls support a micro-dynamo of sound.
January 2006 Home Cinema Choice: Miniature Heroes
'These tiny 3in driver-equipped 4in balls of steel...can actually create a disproportionately powerful and clean soundstage. Put all five on a decently powerful amplifier, spin up a DVD...and the results are amazing.'
'...this Gallo system is a delightful miniature, with massive clarity and output'

Audio Quality is superb, with the new drivers seeming to add even more clarity, depth and detail...surround effects zip around with great energy, giving a feeling of sitting right in the middle [of the action]. As a discreet 5.1 system, there are no products that can touch this in terms of performance or style - a distinct improvement over the old version. We say - Great looking speakers with amazing punch for their size.

"These speakers are the best I have heard in the micro class. If a small, affordable, low-visibility speaker is your desire, this high-resolution gem is a perfect choice."
April 2005 - Bound for Sound
"At this price point, there's never been anything close. The tweeter spreads the image in an almost 360-degree arc, then the mids and bass fill in all the spaces. Perhaps the most solid center image in the industry. The loudspeaker saviour of the middle class."
Feb/Mar 2005 - The Absolute Sound
"Most audiophiles choose equipment with an eye toward achieving delicious moments when they can suspend disbelief and drink in the sound of reproduced music in much the same way that they would enjoy a live concert."

"Now this is a really cool speaker and while considerably larger and twice the price of the Dulcets, it brings just as wide a grin as anything else that we have heard this year. Way bang for the buck, with looks and performance that is leaps ahead of speakers costing several times their price."

High-End
"The Nucleus Reference 3 designed by the American company Anthony Gallo Acoustics, represents a unique speaker systems of futuristic and unconventional design, which will likely speak to the unconventional listeners and audiophiles who are not satisfied with mediocre products and who occasionally find the time to devote to single-minded and focused listening sessions. The Nucleus Reference 3 merits attention and should you, for example, find yourself comfortably seated in a nice armchair, this speaker system will reward you with an unusually detailed, large-scale, luminous and spatially airy sound."

The Absolute Sound (Issue 150)
"Gallo's $2600/pair Reference3s are rewriting the book on value in high-end loudspeakers, making accessible a level of performance that might previously have been far beyond reach for most of us. For an additional $900, Gallo's subwoofer amplifier takes this speaker to the next level, showing us how satisfying it is to have bass response that extends about as low as our hearing can go. Performance this good has never been so affordable, which is why one audio industry veteran who heard the speakers in my home commented (Mr. Gallo, would you kindly plug your ears for a few moments?) that the Reference3 was significantly underpriced for the level of excellence it offered. I couldn't agree more, which is why I believe the Nucleus Reference3 is a speaker many readers need to hear, and soon."

Positive Feedback
"The Gallo Reference 3 is a speaker ne plus ultra at this price level... The R3's closest competitor is probably the Magnepan 3.6R for an additional $1400 upmarket. The Gallo Reference 3 seems to have considerably raised the standard for what is possible at $3000. I look forward to listening to as much music as I can in the following weels and the arrival of the Reference 3 SA from Gallo."

Bound for Sound
"I think the Nucleus Reference3 has the potential to be a classic in the truest sense. Not since the Vandersteen 2 has a loudspeaker come on to the audio scene with such assuredness of success. Not since the Vandy has a speaker so outpaced the competition in terms of quality and value at its price point as has this Gallo loudspeaker."

"These speakers look neat, but that isn't their sole appeal: in fact, it could be seen as no more than a bonus, so good do they sound."

Gramophone
"That's what I really like about this system: its ability to present a coherent stereo picture without filling the room with huge speakers is deeply impressive, and should win this system very many followers. Yes I freely admit I came to reviewing these speakers with some prejudice: that the Gallo Nucleus Micro and MPS150 won me over is a tribute to its achievement."

Nov/Dec 2002 - Nucleus Micro Review in Hi-Fi +
"If you have need of a system that is at once discrete and musically engaging, majoring on communication, clarity and transparency, then look no further. Indeed, if it's the latter qualities that you prize then the Gallo Micros could easily be your speaker of choice, regardless of type. Don't confuse these with the six in a box toys that everybody and their wife seems to be offering these days. This is a genuine hi-fi speaker."

Nucleus Micro Review in Stuff
SENT TO THE GALLOS
The colourful satellites here are among the cutest to orbit Planet Stuff in the past few months, and at four inches round they're deliciously tiny too. For some reason each little orb seems to weigh as much as a pony, so God only knows what's inside them - lead ingots? Plutonium? Dark matter? Still, the sound's excellent, with a Colosseum-sized soundstage and superb imaging, and the subwoofer disguised as a footrest is nice touch.

Business AM
There are numerous loudspeakers on the market that are capable of producing the sound, the problem is that most of them are too large, ugly or power-hungry to work in your stylish pad. Which is where the Nucleus Micro comes in. Measuring a compact four inches in diameter, the all-metal sphere is available in a choice of eight colours (£300-£500 for two, depending on the colour) so there's one to match even the most outlandish decor. What is amazing is that these gorgeously slimline creatures are capable of producing the most amazing sound.

ORBITAL SYSTEM
The Nucleus Micros system won't strain your back lifting it or your wallet buying it. If the alien monolith-resembling speakers released by some acoustic houses are a little out of your price range, but you still want space-age sound, the Nucleus Micros system from Anthony Gallo Acoustics combines super-realistic audio, great looks and a prudent price. 15 years in the making, they're constructed from aluminum and are pitched just as hard at the home cinema market as the hi-fi. Available in eight deep mostly dignified colours they start at £300 for a pack of two, with appropriately sci-fi bass units to compliment from £300-£500.

The Perfect Vision (Issue 42)
This pair of piggybacked steel canisters-housing a 150-watt amp on top and downward-firing woofer beneath-is the perfect choice for small rooms and weird floor plans. Its retro '50s styling won't appeal to all, but musicality is its metier. Fully isolating the amp and crossover components from the wofer enclosure results in exceptionally clean and distortion-free sound. The Gallo's pitch definition is excellent, and its bass extension far exceeds its modest dimensions, making it a great match with a variety of small satellite speakers, especially the ones it was designed to go with- Gallo's own Nucleus Micro.

The Perfect Vision (Issue #31)
TPV Website "Its gracefully spherical shape, the softness of its silhouette, and its comical softball size made the Gallo system a crowd pleaser""So utterly disarming to the eye and ear that people would sit before it, listen to music and never guess they were the source of the sound." "This single driver satellite performed exceedingly well, favouring neither male nor female vocals"
"Almost scary in its ability to disappear out of the soundstage and remarkable in its ability to convey nuance and detail"
"The powered subwoofer is a gem, as fast as quicksilver and as dynamic as a vial of nitro." "Bone crushing dynamics of the Das Boot variety-the Micros were still outmanoeuvring those depth charges at over 95-dB levels!"
Stereophile Magazine & Website
" The amazing Nucleus Micro filled a seemingly empty and untreated room with big, bold sounds."
Kalman Rubinson
"The price/Performance Ratio Award had to go to Gallo. The Micro produced a far bigger and better sound than either their diminutive dimensions or $699 price tag would suggest."
Lonnie Brownell & Richard Rosen
"Gallo blew me away with their Micros...The sound from these speakers was amazingly big and dynamic offering some of the most realistic production I've heard at a show."
Robert Reina
"Everything fell into place, so much so that Rick felt it offered one of the best sounds at the show. The portrayal of the piano was one of the most lifelike they'd heard. Consonant with the most revealing systems elsewhere at the show."
